I was Google Image searching for Aubrey Beardsley's fetus illustrations (don't ask) and stumbled across an interesting if NSFW article by erotic artist Michael Manning. I was surprised to find that Beardsley was not as huge an inspiration on him as I'd thought before. Worth the read, I think.

You know, far be it from me to want to censor anyone, but goddamn I wish Suehiro Maruo has/had done something non-ero-guro. Not that I think he should be a mainstream figure by any means, but even though I personally I think Shoujo Tsubaki aka Mr. Arashi's Amazing Freak Show aka Midori is a beautiful piece of work with flawless art and a heart-

I think, though, if art museums played up the "WE HAVE PIX OF BEWBIES FOR A LOW LOW ENTRANCE FEE AND YOU GET TO STARE AT THEM ALL DAY LONG!" aspect, they'd get a lot more guys coming in and spending monies there.
